UPSEU 1222 has won an NLRB election, officially welcoming 15 new members into the union. In January, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) counted the ballots and certified the election results, with UPSEU 1222 securing a unanimous win—without a single dissenting vote.
The employees of Philipstown EMS reached out to UPSEU, seeking union representation. Their primary objectives were to protect their current working conditions while advocating for improved wages and benefits. UPSEU’s strong reputation for dedicated and effective representation quickly resonated with the employees, and after just one meeting, they confidently chose to align with UPSEU.
Initially, UPSEU requested voluntary recognition from the employer. After the request was denied, the union promptly filed for an NLRB election. The results affirmed the employees' desire for union representation, and we are proud to welcome these 15 new members into the UPSEU 1222 family.
With the election now behind us, we eagerly anticipate the upcoming negotiations, where we will work to secure a strong and fair contract that reflects the needs and priorities of our new members.
